While working on my drug lab modeling I had the thought there must be a way to incorporate geography into the modeling. So after a quick run through google there in fact is a whole area of statistics related to geographical modeling call spatial temporal modeling that combines time-series and location. I did in fact get the code to work in python for yearly cocaine trafficking at the state level however the results were uninteresting as all my Moran's I's were near zero at the yearly level. However, it was good practice to get the meth lab data code together. I am expanding this project to local crime data here in Walker County, Alabama after I file a state foia request for the local crime data from the Sheriff's department. I am headed there today to do that. Check back soon as this page is under development.
